Inside Out is the first feature film to take us deep inside the lives of transgender and gender non-conforming children. Beginning August ’15 we will follow a year in the life of five children and their families. We have been working closely with Aidan Key and the transgender community for the past year to lay the groundwork for this important film. We are attending the conference again this year to talk with families that are interested in participating in the film or supporting the film in other ways.
We are filming short, individual interviews of young Gender Odyssey Family attendees (with the consent of their parent or guardian) on Saturday, 8/16. These interviews will be used to create an Inside Out promotional trailer, which will mirror the mission of the documentary. It will paint a wholistic picture of who trans* children are by intercutting a range of children talking about their hopes, fears, dreams, and what they would like the world to understand about them.
Please stop by our table, say hello, and sign your child up for an interview! We can accommodate children who are keeping their gender history private as well as those who are out. If your child is attending the conference without a parent we can email a release for you to sign in advance.
