The concerns of families with trans or gender-nonconforming children, regardless of their age, are valid and complex. It is oftentimes challenging to find any reliable information or research. These concerns include medical implications, family dynamics, mental health issues, school environments, and so much more. Sorting these out can be overwhelming, frustrating, and isolating.
If you are a family member who needs information and support regarding your child’s gender expression or identity, Gender Diversity can help. We provide services and support that helps families understand the wide range of naturally occurring gender identities and expressions that exist. Programs include:
Trainings – We can help raise the understanding of gender issues at your child’s school, camp, after school program, and other groups or activities.
Family Consultations – Families gain specific guidance for navigating the complexities that can occur within relationships (spouse, extended family, siblings, neighborhoods, etc). Consultations include referral services for knowledgeable providers.
Support Groups – Attend our MONTHLY FAMILY SUPPORT GROUPS in person or by teleconference. Telephone intake required.
Conference – Attend the Gender Odyssey national conference where you can engage with the top medical and mental health professionals in the field as well as meet other families navigating similar paths. Programs for children, teens, and adults.
